Sandra Barrett Kent and Doreen Lavoie Bird previously worked for Centenary Hospital for 15 years.
The two decided to open their own private clinic in 2004. The transition included continued involvement with the hospital, specifically, the Diabetic Education Centre. Working with the Amputee clinic created a passion for maintaining the health of people with diabetes.
As the hospital has changed over the years from Centenary Hospital to Rouge Valley Health system to the now Scarborough Health Network, the affiliation remains in place. Relationships with the Wound Clinic, Fracture clinic and Hyperbaric Clinic improves the ability to provide access to well rounded care with a team approach.
Welcoming to the clinic in 2019 is Chiropodist, Melody Bird. She is a welcome addition to our family. Her experience in Timmins, ON. provided her with insight to the indigenous community. Melody brings diabetic wound care experience from her time at Ottawa General Hospital. She is the youth and future of our clinic.
